Time Frame 1.5 hours - 45 minutes talk, 15 mins Q+A, 30 mins social

Bring a Head Teacher in to give you a personal perspective on what impresses the panel at interview. This Social which is ideal to run in the Easter term as finalists are beginning to look at finding their first post.

Time Frame: 2 hours or however long or short you like

This session can be as long or short as you like, and can focus on just one topic, such as lesson planning, just as easily as it can cover all issues you and your course mates face. Each attendee can note down their top tips and biggest obstacles, and we will work in groups to share the best ideas and solve the problems. This is a perfect session for everyone to benefit from mutual support and feel reassured preceding a major block placement, and experts can be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

Time frame - 1.5 hours - 1 hour workshop plus half hour social

Cyberbullying is a hot topic right now, and much effort is being put into protecting children in and out of schools from this threat. But what about you, the teacher?

This is a one-hour workshop to raise awareness of the issues and current research, where we will not only look at how to protect ourselves and others from the threat of cyberbullying, but also how to address the issue if and when it does occur

Time Frame - one hour - half hour presentation plus half hour q+a and refreshments

If you signed up for student membership this year, you will have received The Interactive Guide to Behaviour Management, a fantastic resource which gives you a good grounding in behaviour management before you reach the classroom. The NUT is offering a short session to show you the features of the DVD-ROM, so that you can be making the most of it from the start. If you did not join this year, we can still hold this session for you, and provide copies of the resource for your Faculty’s library.
