This popular course for NUT student members provides an excellent opportunity to meet colleagues who are training throughout England and Wales. The course informs you about the law; your conditions of service; managing your classroom; finding your job and how to get involved with the NUT.

JUST QUALIFIED TEACHERS’ SUMMER WORKSHOP

If you are a trainee teacher who will qualify in 2012 you are eligible to apply for this three-day course which offers practical advice on a wide range of topics including work and time management; conditions of service; liaising with parents and your induction period. There are also three workshops offering useful advice relating to your classroom. The course also offers a fantastic opportunity to network and socialise with other just qualified teachers. To be eligible to attend, you must have converted to full membership.

START RIGHT SEMINARS

These one-day, locally organised seminars focus on promoting good behaviour in the classroom and preparing you for your first month in the classroom. Experienced tutors offer ‘tried and tested’ strategies for running your classroom. Participants will also receive up-to-date legal briefings and insights into teaching pupils with special educational needs.

ICT SKILLS FOR TEACHERS

Kick start your classroom ICT with a practical course on the use of interactive whiteboards or brush up your ICT skills with courses covering Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and digital photography. Courses are held throughout England and Wales during the academic year and the summer holidays.
